Shanghai, the city which is pacing way to China’s glorious future bore witness to Educon 2012. 60 educationists from India attended the event to discuss ‘Innovative Education Practices in Universities – The road map for inclusive growth of the nation’ which was the year’s theme for Educon. The most significant section of the Educon event was the visit to the Shanghai Technology Innovation Center (STIC). A non-profit public Institution under the direct leadership of S&T Commission of Shanghai Municipality, STIC was established in April, 1988 and is devoted to transferring technology achievements, incubating technology enterprises, and cultivating technology entrepreneurs. The Centre strives to build an excellent innovation environment to provide comprehensive services to technology enterprises and innovators for the commercialization, industrialization and internationalization of hi-tech technology achievements. The delegates were able to comprehend superior methods and approaches of the teaching and learning experience and were able to explore the various ways our education system can be transformed.
